When traveling, you often come across so-called "mood accommodations" filled with beautiful photos: a flower vase by the window, coffee cups on a tablecloth... But when you actually go there, some are disappointing, with only paint slapped over the walls to hide flaws, or plastic chairs that look like they'd break if you sat on them.
This place I stayed at for two months was far from such places. In short, it is a sturdy, solidly built house well suited for long stays, such as a one-month or two-month living experience. It is a clean, newly built house located in a townhouse.
The bathroom had about 50 toothbrushes, and the kitchen had enough tableware for a family of four. The air conditioners worked well in each room, and the washing machine and dryer were good models.
Last year I did a one-month stay by the sea. The beach was close, but it was crowded and noisy. When I was deciding on this place, I was somewhat worried that it might be too far from the sea, but the nearest beach (Gimnyeong) was about a 15-minute drive away.
On the contrary, being inland made it very quiet, and this location was just right, not far from the north beach, the east beach, or the south beach. At least, that was the case for us. When I stayed in Gimnyeong last year, the south beach felt far away.
When a small problem came up during our stay, the homeowner responded quickly, handled it smoothly, and was generous about it.
From the large living room window, the view of Oreum spreading out beautifully was lovely.
We had a good two months here, and it is a place I want to come back to next year.
Our summer was a success.
*You will need a rental car. There is a convenience store right next door. For groceries, we mainly used Gimnyeong Hanaro Mart.
